Wedding makeup FAQs for brides getting married in Croatia

Booking & Availability

For destination weddings in Croatia – especially in Dubrovnik, Hvar and Split – I typically book weddings 6 – 12 months in advance.

Once your date and venue are confirmed, it’s always best to get in touch early to secure your spot. To make sure everything feels smooth and stress-free, I take on just one wedding each day.

To confirm your date, a non-refundable retainer and a signed contract are required. The remaining balance is due 1 week before your wedding via a secure online payment.

Each wedding day is reserved for one bride only, so bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis and secured by the first completed reservation.

I do – destination weddings are a big part of my work.

For weddings on islands like Hvar and Vis, I carefully plan travel in advance (including ferries or overnight stays when needed), so your morning feels relaxed and unrushed, no matter the location.

Yes – I do. Alongside Croatia, I also travel to Italy and Montenegro for destination weddings, especially Tuscany and Lake Como in Italy, and Mamula Island, One&Only Portonovi, Dukley Gardens and Regent Porto Montenegro in Montenegro.

Trials & Preparations

Yes, you can book a makeup trial before securing your wedding date. However, please keep in mind that booking a trial does not guarantee that I will be available or hold your wedding date for you.

I always recommend securing your wedding date first and then booking your makeup trial. This way, you know your date is confirmed before we plan the trial.

Each wedding date is reserved for one bride only, so dates are booked on a first-come, first-served basis and are secured by the first completed booking.

From my experience, I find that the best time to have your wedding makeup trial is somewhere between a few months before the wedding and up to a week before the big day.

Let me explain why. I’ve had brides who did their trials a year before the wedding, and at that point they didn’t have their wedding dress yet and hadn’t developed a clear vision of the hair and makeup they wanted. As the wedding got closer, their ideas changed, and sometimes we ended up doing a completely different look from what we had tried at the trial.

Ideally, by the time you have your trial, you’ll have your dress and accessories sorted, and you’ll have a much clearer idea of the overall look you want to create. This makes it much easier to see how everything will come together.

Of course, I completely understand that this isn’t always possible, especially if you’re travelling to Croatia from abroad. In that case, we can absolutely work with the timing that makes the most sense for you.

If you’re travelling to Croatia from abroad, I completely understand that having a trial before your wedding isn’t always possible. I’ve worked with many brides who didn’t have a trial, and we were still able to create exactly what they wanted.

After we sort out all the formalities, I’ll send you a thorough bridal makeup questionnaire. This will help me understand your preferences, what you normally wear, what you like and don’t like, your skin, and what you have in mind for your wedding makeup.

You’ll also be able to send me photos of makeup you like, and we can discuss everything beforehand. This gives me a good idea of what you’re looking for before I arrive on your wedding day.

Of course, I recommend having a trial when possible, but it’s definitely not a must.

A makeup trial takes up to 2 hours. I don’t rush through the trial – it’s my chance to meet you, talk about your wedding and get to know what you like and don’t like when it comes to makeup.

We’ll talk about what you have in mind for your wedding makeup, and I’ll create the makeup look based on our conversation. We can make any changes if needed, so by the end of the trial, we both know what we’re doing on your wedding day.

The most important thing for me is that you feel comfortable being completely honest with me. If there’s something you would like to change, please tell me. I will never be offended – quite the opposite. I really want to know, because my goal is for you to leave your trial feeling confident, happy and completely comfortable with your makeup.

Wedding Day Details

Yes. I don’t rush away once your look is finished – I stay with you for an additional hour during that final part of your morning to check everything in natural light, help with finishing touches, and make sure you feel completely ready before the ceremony.

If you prefer, I can stay with you for additional touch-ups throughout the day to keep your look fresh.

If you are getting married in the peak of the summer heat, I highly recommend having me by your side for touch-ups right before and after your ceremony, as well as during your couples’ photo session. Timewise, keeping me booked until 7:00 PM is usually the perfect sweet spot to ensure you look flawless for all your main events.
